We're now going to look at plotting using the new features on the AutoCAD 2009 status bar. Now when we look at our drawing here we have three Viewports, one, two and three and we're in the Layout 1 tab here, there's the Layout 1 Tab there. Now if I click on this particular Top Viewport here I can go down to that status bar and I can see that the scale is 2.818182, not a known scale. However what I can do is if I click on the arrow here I can pick a scale that I want to use. I'm going to go for 2 to 1 which is roughly 2 and as you can see there that just about fits. If I pan slightly there by double clicking in the viewport and panning. If I pan it doesn't affect the scale so I know that is now 2 to 1. Double click outside the viewports to deactivate it. If I double click inside the next viewport and look at the status bar I've got 2.851 roughly, if I click on the Arrow and select 2 to 1 again that roughly fits. So let's just pan slightly, get that fitting in the viewport, double click outside the viewport there and then double click in this viewport, again click on the Arrow here on the status bar, 2 to 1, just about fits, let's just pan it there, get it roughly central, double click outside the viewport. Those are all now set if I click there you can see that ones 2 to 1, Escape to deselect. Click on that one its 2 to 1, Escape to deselect. Click on that one its 2 to 1. So avoid anybody messing up those viewport scales click there, Right Click, Display Locked, say yes, do the same with this one. Click on the viewport, Right Click, Display Locked and Yes there as well. Click there, Right Click, Display Locked and say yes. So those are now locked, if I double click inside that viewport and try and zoom look it only zooms the Layout Tab it doesn't zoom the viewport. So I Double Click outside viewport and I'll just Zoom Extents, go to the Home Tab and just do a Zoom Extents, it's a good habit to get into when you save your drawing and when you come out of your drawing, but we need to plot our drawing now. So to plot now all we need to is make sure that we've got the appropriate Page Set Up, so we Right Click over Layout 1, go to Page Set Up Manager. You'll see that we're in Layout 1 and Layout 1 is currently using the A1 Portrait Release Plot, Click on A1 Portrait Release Plot, click on Modify and check your Settings. It's plotting to a DWF, it's an ISO A1 Sheet, it all fits because the preview has no red lines on it there. So we can preview that quickly by clicking on the Preview Button and there's our finished plot. What I can do now is I can Right Click and I can exit there. What I will do is I'll set this up to plot maybe at a later date, but all I would need to do there now is hit the OK button to make sure that, that Page Set Up is fine; the Page Set Up is referenced by additional Layouts so we say yes. And then we close and we now know that the Page Set Up is correct and we are ready to plot. So what we're going to do now, we're going to plot our drawing, so we Right Click, we go to Plot this time instead of Page Set Up Manager, all our settings are there, I click on Preview, there's our drawing, that is what we'll Plot so all I've got to do now is Right Click and select plots on the Shortcut Menu.
