We're now going to use the Stretch Command to Stretch our house two meters either end so left hand end we're going to stretch by two meters to the left, right hand end we're going to stretch by two meters to the right. Now before we do any stretching just make sure that your Polar Tracking is on so that your stretches are horizontal or vertical. Now the Stretch Command again is available on the Home Tab on the Modify Panel and it's this icon here, stretch, click on stretch. Now what you've got to do with stretch is make sure that you use a crossing window or a crossing polygon, you cannot select the objects any other way. So when you click on Stretch and get the select objects prompt if you type C for Crossing Selection and press Enter it now doesn't matter which way you do your implied window, it will always be a crossing selection. So I'm going to Left Click there and I'm going to drag my Crossing Selection through there like that. Make sure you don't touch the windows otherwise the windows as blocks will Stretch as well. We don't want to Stretch the windows, I only want to Stretch the left hand end of the house. So if I Left Click down here where it says specify corner it selects the objects that are going to be Stretched, I press Enter to confirm that. It now prompts me for a base point. I want to Stretch 2 meters internally, this drawing is in millimeters, so I need to Stretch my 2000 millimeters. So if I now click on that end point snap there internally and Left Click to select it and drag to the left there's my Stretch. I can now just type in the distance using Direct Distance Entry 2000 like so, the Dynamic Input picks it up, I press Enter as you can see my lounge and my bedroom one are now two meters longer. You'll notice the dimensions have updated because they are associative dimensions. Let's do the other end of the house now. I'm just going to pan a little bit here and this time I'm going to use a Crossing Polygon. So let's do that now and go to the Stretch Command, we now select objects at the prompt there and instead of selecting objects immediately we type CP for Crossing Polygon and press Enter. My first polygon point I'm going to start down here, Left Click, drag it through, go around the doors, we don't want to Stretch those. I'm going to come up into the bathroom here, Left Click, drag through the bathroom wall, Left Click, drag out slightly, Left Click and then back down here and Left Click. Enter to confirm the object selected by the polygon, Enter again now just to confirm the object selection in the Stretch Command. Again it asks for a base point, I'm going to click on internal corner again, Left Click, drag to the right this time along with zero degree line, type in 2000 for the distance and Enter and as you can see now everything is Stretched 2000 to the right. Now, what I have done there is something rather silly, I've moved my bathroom door two meters to the right and created a new doorway for it. Why do that when the door itself was actually perfectly good in the position it was in. I now need to move the bathroom door back by two meters. Let's zoom in on that bathroom and pan. I can use the Stretch Command now to move an object in situ. So if I click on Stretch and just click from right down to left like that as a Crossing Selection it not only selects the door but it selects the objects it crosses. So I press Enter to confirm that, pick any point I want, let's go for the top of the door there, Left Click and drag horizontally now, can you see the door move to the left like that? So I pin 2000 again to put it back to where it was, press Enter and I can move objects using the Stretch Command as well.
