I have gone ahead and taken the liberty of completing the 3D sofa and the 3D table. I will show you what I did so you can achieve similar results. Focusing on the table first you can see that I was able to taper the edges of the tabletop and I did this by going to properties palette, highlighting the solid and changing the taper angle and this was possible because the solid type is an extrusion. Tapping the escape key I then went ahead and modified the base of this leg by selecting it and then picking on the bottom grip. I was able to raise it enough so that I could place a base at the bottom. Moving onto the sofa as you can I was able to add legs for the sofa and I was able to raise the of the 3D solids up by three inches and I'll show you how I was able to do that. A bit of a challenge but what I did was hold down the control key, select the 3D solid and then while still holding down the control key I was able to select it again. I was fortunate enough to have the grip appear along the bottom face at which point I gripped the bottom face and I was able to move it up three inches. For the legs I simply drew a circle and let me zoom in alittle bit here, holding down control and alt and then clicking inside of the circle I was able to pull that up 3 inches and then once again going to the properties palette I was able to highlight object and change the taper angle. At first I set it to five degrees but then that tapers in. I need it to do just the opposite so I changed it from 5 degrees to minus 5 and then that looked better. For the cushion I was also able to fill it V-sides and I did this by first moving the cushion out an exact distance. I'll make it 24 inches now, let me just change the view a bit here and I'd like to show you that I went to the fill it command and I was trying to do that edge first. I changed the radius to one inch and then I entered and I entered one more time, but I was not successful in doing that command. So I went back to fill it and this time I selected the edge and setting the radius again to one inch, this time I typed C for chain, I entered and I selected this edge. This time it did create the proper chain and it did select all of the edges and then I entered and the command was complete. Then I moved the object back by 24 inches, knowing that it would go into the proper location. For the sofa back I made a copy far off towards the back, I was able to raise the back and I did this by holding down the control key, selecting the edge and then gripping the edge and raising it by three inches. Tapping the escape key I went back to the fill it command and I selected this edge to fill it and I believe I set the radius to two inches and then I typed C for chain, zooming in here I selected this edge and it did produce the chain effect that I wanted and then I entered and the edge or the rounded edge was complete. Finally as you can see I was able to save a few views, they came in handy because it saved a few orbiting commands and it made the drawing process more efficient. This drawing will be included in the tutorial so that you may see what I was able to do and you can continue the practice the solids editing commands.
