Drawing Tips / Clipboard Tips

Subtitles of the Movie

I would like to provide you with some quick tips or shortcuts to take objects from one drawing file into another via windows clipboard. The clipboard may be an alternative to creating blocks, but I will let you decide based on your drawing style. As I demonstrate I will be cycling between two drawing files using the control tab keyboard shortcut. So I'm moving to this area of the drawing, I will now go to edit and copy, as usual the control C is the keyboard shortcut for copy. I will window the object here and now I enter using the control tab keyboard shortcut it will cycle me to the other open drawing and now I select edit and paste, specifying an insertion point right here, I have now successfully taken objects from one file to another. Cycling back I will go to edit once again copy and now I'm going to copy the four lines using a window, I enter, cycling to the other file I will now select edit and instead of paste I will use paste as block. Placing the object here instead of being four individual line segments the objects are now a block and I will go to the explode icon and their now back to being individual line segments. Back to the other file, I'd like to take the double doors here and copy them but I am going to use copy with base point and I'll use this point right here, click on the drawing and now to select the objects I will window the doors and enter, control tab cycles me to this drawing file, I will select edit and either paste or paste as block. No matter which one I select you can see that the insertion point is based on the point that I have selected and there they are and now I'm going to zoom out on both drawings and I'm going to select for the last time, edit and copy and I'm going to take the object here. I will now enter, cycle to the other drawing file and now I will select edit and paste to original coordinates. This will place the objects in the exact same location based on the X, Y and Z coordinates on the other drawing file and they will go into the exact same X, Y Z coordinates of this file and so as you can see many options with the windows clipboard.
