Another way you can do Particle Systems in Max is by going to Particle Flow. To access Particle Flow let's go back to our Particle Systems over here and let's click on PF Source, which is Particle Flow Source, and let's drag anywhere in the Viewport to make a PF Source. I'm going to maximize my Perspective view and let's move this PF Source up above the grid. Let's click on Modify and let's click on the button Particle View. The Hotkey to get that Window right there is 6. And my Particle Flow Window opens up. Particle Flow is a node-based interface and it's really amazing in the Effects it produces. Covering the entire Particle Flow was beyond the scope of this training series but I'm going to still give you a quick tour of Particle Flow. Maybe in the future there could be some special training series by VTC just for some special features of 3ds Max, so keep checking. Let's go back over here. You can see I have something called PF Source 01, Render. There's a little light bulb so I can turn that off and on, just like Modifiers. I also have Event 01, which I can turn off the entire Event. Birth 01, the birth of the Particles, so you'll see a lot of familiar things over here just like what we saw some Parameters with Super Spray and Spray, Emitter Start and Stop. Let's go back over here. So if I simply go and move my Time Slider you can see that right here I'm seeing the Particles come out. So I'll say Stop only at 100. Position Icon, right now I'm okay with that. Location, if I turn it to Pivot you'll see the Particles are coming out from the Pivot right there. I'll go back to Volume on this. Speed 300. Let's do some Variation, about 50. Rotation, Random 3D, I can also specify World Space, XYZ, and so on. We'll just do Random 3D right now. Shape Cubed 3D right here, but I cannot see any Cubes, I'm just seeing Ticks. That's because the Display 01 is at Ticks. Let's go to Display and turn the Display to Geometry and you can see those are my Cubes right now. Let's go back over here, you can see how it's playing. Right now I'm going to go over here, which is my Depot. As you can see when I turned off the Display. I can do an Age Test Operator and it'll tell you a little description right here, give you a little description about each one of these. And drag and drop it not over, where there's a red line right now appearing, but under where there's a blue line right there. The Age Test right now it's about the Particle Age so all the Particles that are meeting this condition, so basically any Particle that is above the Test Value of 30, no Variation, I want it to go to another Event. So let's go down over here and let's have another shape over here. So let's go back right over here and right now from the Age Test I'm going to make a connection by clicking on that little blue dot back over here. So right now you'll see, and the Display's at Ticks again, but let's quickly Play this. You can see right now every Particle that's meeting the Age Test is going into that second Event. So let's go over here to the Shape and let's turn this to how about Diamonds over here, and Display Tick. Let's go to Geometry, and you can see all of them are going to Diamonds. Let's add another Event right here. How about doing, let's go down and how about Find Target inside this Event, let's do a Find Target Operator and I'm also quickly going to go and quickly do a simple Teapot over here in the view. Let's go to the Find Target, let's go up over here. You can also go to Modify and that's the Find Target Operator right there. You can also play around with some Parameters over here. I'm just going to go to the Particle view and say Mesh Objects, Add, the Teapot. You can see now immediately they're trying to find the Teapot, so if I mov the Teapot anywhere you can see how the Particles are falling. And then I'm going to do another Shape Operator after they find the Teapot. So let's go from this blue dot to this one and this time I'm going to do maybe some, how about some Hearts. Display Ticks instead of that. Let's just do Geometry. Let's quickly close this Window. So you'll see right now it's going the first Event, Age Test meets the Age Test, goes over here, Find Target, and after they find the Target, which is the Teapot, they go into Hearts right over there. So, it's really a cool way. It's really intense, Particle Flow, and it's really, really a nice thing to play with, so I would totally, totally spend some time doing the Tutorials with Max with Particle Flow. So play around with Particle Flow.
