In this movie we'll start talking about the Rendered Frame Window inside Max. The Rendered Frame Window is really a cool feature inside Max 2009 wherein it allows you to do a lot of different tasks just from one window rather than opening a few dialog boxes. So let's go to the Main Toolbar over here and click on this button, the Rendered Frame Window and this dialog box opens up, or this Rendered Frame Window opens up. Let's go to Area to Render first. Right now I'm on my Camera02, which is selected. If I simply hit Render this is what I'm getting. I can also do a Selected Render, so if I select just the Teapot I can just simply render the Teapot. Right now this is not being rendered. You can see how it's giving me this little area or this little cutout around that object suggesting that only that object was rendered. I can also go to Region over here, and it gives me a little region to render so let's render only that region. So let's go back over here and how about rendering only this area. Now this Region Renderer could be helpful when let's say if I'm going and changing some of the color information on one of the materials over here, what if I'm just changing this to a different color, and let's say Render. There you go. That's when the Region can be helpful, so it's just rendering that region for me. I can also say, let's close this. I can also say give me a Crop of that particular Region right there. So let's close this window for a second and let's say only for that window or that region I want to Crop. Let's Render this and you can see how it's cropped only that much. I can also say give me a Blowup of that, so really you see it from close. Now the Blowup was on this Region, that's the reason it did that Teapot right there. I can always move it over here and do a similar Blowup on this region like so. There we go. You can also switch your Cameras from here, so I can go back to View, go to Camera01, which is that Camera, do a Quick Render from there, just to see my cameras. I can also Save the images from here, Clone the Rendered Window right from here. So this is a Clone of the rendered window. I can also apply some Rendering Presets in Max. I can also open the Render Setup at any time and change all my Parameters and quickly hit Render again. I can also click on the Environment and Settings and Effects. I can change them from here, go from Production to Iterative rendering. I can also switch between the UI, so for example if I click on this button I can switch between the regular Rendered Window to the Rendered Frame Window. So there's really a lot of thing you can do from here. So play around with the Render Frame Window. It's a really, really cool addition and you can really save a lot of time. One more thing we could do is if I go to the Render Setup over here and if I go to the Common tab and if I can Assign Renderer, if I can change that to let's say Mental Ray Rendering, you can see that the Rendered Frame Window is right now slightly big. So it's got a lot of options for some Mental Ray Options right at the bottom, like Final Gather, and some other settings that you can set like Image Precision, it looks like some Antialiasing settings and so on. So, it's really a cool little addition in 2009 and I would totally, totally start playing with this because this can save you a lot of time when you're rendering or when you're preparing to render your final scene.
