Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie we'll talk about the importance of Safe Frames for animation purposes. Let's say if I was going to do some animation with these words 3ds Max 2009 Training and if I was just relying on the border edges for the Viewport to make sure that my words 3ds Max 2009 and Training are not going outside like so, then I may be very off. The reason for that is if I right-click over here and turn on something called Safe Frames, so I right-clicked on the Viewport label, Camera01. This one gives me three boxes right here, so there are these lines over here, which is called the Live Area which will pretty much render everything, especially if you have a Background image loaded that will fit within the Live Area. This greenish shinish line over here, or this rectangle is called the Action Safe so all your action has to be within this area. And if you start going outside this shinish area more towards the Live Area you're risking to be cut off. So this shinish area over here is 10 percent smaller than the Live Area. Then you also have this little light orange box over here, which is called the Title Safe, so right now if I was to Render this image and watch on the television monitor, 3ds Max 2009 Training, my 3 is outside my Title Safe, my 9 is definitely, definitely out. So is the G and so is the T over here. Just a little bit of the 3 over here is going to show up. So this can be very, very problematic if you don't pay attention to this, so I would highly, highly recommend if you're doing animations, turn the Safe Frame on. Furthermore you can right-click over here, go to Configure, and you can take a Safe Frame size down so the Title Safe right now is 20 percent less than the Live Area and the Action Safe, which is this one, is 10 percent less than the Live Area. So what if I take down the Title Safe to like 30 percent and if I say OK you can see right now the D is going to get cut off and so is the O over here. So be extremely careful about the Safe Frames because I've known some people where they've rendered an entire animation just to find out that their text was outside the Title Safe and had to re-render the whole project.
