Let's continue working on Lofting. One more thing you could do is, you could copy shapes on the same path. So for example if I have this Ellipse I can simply hold down Shift and just drag and you can see how I've copied that. And it's going to ask me Copy or Instance, so I'm just going to say Instance right now. And I can further modify this shape, depending on how I need it, right there. I don't like it right now so I'm just going to delete it. Let's go all the way down over here to the Deformations. So you can see I have something called Scale, Twist, Teeter, Bevel, and Fit. So these are really some special things in Lofting, which will further change the look of your object. So for example if I go to Scale, the Scale Deformation dialog opens up and you can see right now I have the Loft turned On. So I'm just going to just unlock that. And also I have something called the X-axis, the Y-axis, and displaying the X and Y both. So just think about if this tube was rotated right now and it's aligned this way. So this is the start for the tube and this is the end, which, where the ellipse would be. And if you see these dotted lines, these are pretty much where I have my shapes right now. So I have my first circle over here. So if I simply go to the Move tool over here, it also gives me move Horizontally and Vertically, some options. Also there's Insert a Corner Point, or a Bezier Point. Also if I wanted to delete the points, also a little delete option over here, and some panning and some zooming tools over here. So right now if I say go down over here and if I say Insert a Bezier point, and I insert a point over here you can see something happened right there. And if I pull this, and I'm just doing this on the X-axis right now, you can see totally my shape's changing. You can also go up. Now if I wanted to go exactly vertically I could just use the Vertical tool and there we go. I can also say on the X-axis, let's say I want to have a point somewhere at that level. And let's go down over here and you can see it right there. I'm changing that. Now if you don't like it you can always delete the points right here. I can select this point and delete it and I'm back. Or I can also go over here and turn this little lightbulb off. That will not display the scale. Right now I've got delete, I've deleted the points so it's not acting anyway. Let's look at Twist quickly. So again if I go here I can insert, let's say a Corner point in this case, somewhere around there. Or let's say a Bezier point, and that's what Twisting is going to do for me. There you go. Again, I can always come down over here and if I don't like the way this is twisting right now, I can always even turn that off. Teeter on the other hand, again, has a Display X-axis, and Y-axis, and X and Y both. Let's say a Corner point in this case, somewhere around there. And there we go. That's the Teeter. I can also right-click on this and say Bezier, Smooth, and it kind of gives me these Bezier handles to play with, and that's my Teeter. Again, I'm just doing it on the X-axis. Bevel, let's go here and do a Bezier point again, let's go to Move, move this, and you've got to be careful, it really is very sensitive. There you go. Again, I have Linear and a Cubic Bevel. There we go. Totally changed the look of our object. Fit is something different. It's slightly different, it needs two more shapes, so what I'm going to do is, right now, let's go down to our Layers over here. And let's Hide the tube, and my tube's hidden. And Unhide the Fit Curve, and let's also select this tube over here and hide it on the Tube Layer, the earlier Tube Layer only had the Curves, so Add Selected Objects. There we go. So in this one what I've got is, I've got a simple Path, a Shape, and two more Shapes over here. So I'm going to select this path, go to Loft, and say Get Shape. I'm going to get this shape. Again, the same mistake. I am currently on the Tube Layer, so I've got to be on the Default Layer over here. Let's go back, select the Path, let's go to Loft and select Get Shape. And let's get the shape. So it gives me this basic shape. Go to Modify and let's go to Fit. And in Fit, again, I have X-axis, Y-axis, and a few other options. So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to come down to Get Shape over here, and on the X-axis I'm going to get, this is the shape, there you go. And you can further edit these points over here. Then go to the Y-axis, and I'm going to say Get Shape and I'm going to get this one. And there you go, it gave me that shape right there. So you can really build, you know some simple shapes with Fit like that. So just remember that you need a path, a cross-section, or a shape going along that path, and two more shapes like so, like on the X-axis, and Y. And if I say Display X and Y, there you go. And if they're not matching, I can always go here and pull these points like so, and kind of match them up or down. I can round these corners up and so on. And with the Bezier handles I can just go here. And I've got a bunch of other options over here. I can also do some swapping of curves and so on. So, that's your Fit and that does it for the Lofting tools so really I would say extremely powerful modeling method. Sometimes you would want to look at your model before you start and say, how, what's the best way I can do this? And most of the time you can get away with simple things like Loft or you know, just making simple 2D splines and extruding them, or just doing a Lathe Modifier and then going from there into you know, Polygonal modeling.
