Another tip that you'll probably find very useful is the ability to use the auto fill handle and the auto fill handle is in the lower right hand corner of any selected cell and notice that the mouse pointer changes from a white cross to a black cross when your actually hovering over that auto fill handle and the way that the auto fill handle works is that you can add a month, something in a commonly used sequence like that and then you can click and drag and fill in the rest of your spreadsheet that way or your table technically in this case here. But on this sheet I've added a table. So that's one way to use that and if I wanted to expand my table I can do so and I can continue to use that auto fill handle. The auto fill handle also comes in handy as your dealing with sequences, maybe if your doing 10, 20 as long as you set a pattern, you should then be able to click on your range to establish that pattern, so it's going to increment by ten if I use the auto fill handle to click and drag and to continue to fill in data that way. So that can be very helpful obviously. You can also use this if you are working with people's names or any other pieces of data. Let's say your tracking again, let me select one of the cells, your tracking iWork '08 and then iWork05 and then I and notice here if I started typing it'll give me an auto completion entries here so I don't have to retype the entire string if I want to come back down and use iWork '08 once again, I just select it with my arrow keys and then press enter and enter again to accept what I am doing here. So I'm going to continue down the list, I'm going to go back up here and delete what was there, delete what was there real quickly and again using something that I used earlier on, outlook 07 and so on. Now that I've got a range like this and I've established pattern watch what happens if I use the auto fill handle again to click and drag. I start to fill in my entries here, my rows, in this instance with that pattern. I iWork '08, 05, and 07, 08, 05, and 07 and so on. So in terms of saving time as you do your data entry into your tables that auto fill handle can certainly be a big help.
