If you plan to publish right to your MobileMe account, which is once again about 100 bucks a year, you should have zero problems because once you sign up for MobileMe and you choose Publish Site that's exactly where your site's going to go, and you can click on the name of your site and you can tell iWeb where to publish. So you can say Publish to MobileMe, and so on. Here's your Site Name, and here's your MobileMe Account. Now, let's talk about those of you who want to use your own personal FTP. Now, it can be quite complicated, so let me refer you instead to Apple's website. Just go to Apple.com and click on Support and then enter Publishing to MobileMe. You should see Publishing on MobileMe Folder or FTP Server. If not simply do a search for Publishing to ftp server, or something like that and you'll find this information. You'll find articles and the information you need down here. Likewise, you can also talk to your ISP, which stands for Internet Service Provider, and simply say you're using iWeb and you want to be able to publish the information to MobileMe. What pretty much has to happen, if you want to take your MobileMe files and put them on something like my website, diehardstudio.com for example, and that's an actual domain, you have to first of all have a domain, so if you are going to publish something to your own website, like Bob's Pets, you have to buy that name. So, we have to contact an ISP and say, how do I set that up? It can be a little complicated and a little convoluted at first, but here are pretty much the steps you need. First of all you need an Internet connection Ð of course, that's pretty obvious. You also need an ISP, Internet Service Provider. That's pretty much one and the same. If you have an ISP you have an Internet connection because they provide the ability for your computer to get online. From there you have to buy a Domain, so speak to your Service Provider and say, hey, how do I buy a domain, like Bobspets.com? There are a ton of different services out there so just do a little bit of research and see which one fits your needs and your budget. There are all kinds of different packages as well. Some are free. Some cost a little tiny bit of money, and some, of course, are quite expensive if you're going to be an Enterprise. So, talk to your provider, read this information here on Apple's website first so that you'll be able to then set up iWeb to publish to that.com that you want to set up. But if that's not really something you're interested in and you just want your stuff online so you can send your website to your family and friends, set up your MobileMe Account, which is very easy, and then when you're done with that click Publish Site on the bottom and when you do it'll tell you the name of your site, you click on Visit My Site, you'll go there, you simply Copy and Paste that information and mail it to all your friends. This will turn from red to a different color and then every time you make a moderate change to any of these pages, that page will turn red. So always keep your eye over here when you make your changes and you'll know which pages to publish. Now, speaking of that, you don't have to tell iWeb what pages you want to publish, it will automatically know. So whenever you make a change click Publish Site and it will upload those changes for you. So I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. on how to use iWeb to build an actual website from scratch using Images, Text, Movies, Logos, which of course does quality as images Ð I tend to be redundant from time to time. So, thanks a lot guys for watching and have some fun. Build some awesome websites.
