Introduction / Sync Content

Subtitles of the Movie

Syncing things with your iPod, your iPod Touch, your iPhone and even using MobileMe to sync projects with your clients is extremely easy to do and I'm going to show you how to do that. As you can see I'm in iTunes. iTunes acts as the hub for pretty much all of iLife. All of your photos, your music, your Podcasts, your videos, and everything, life here, and this is where you tell iTunes what to put on your phone or your iPod. As you can see over here in my Source List it says Hunter Socket. This is the name of my phone and I called it the Socket because I'm a big fan of the show 24 and Jack Bowers always yelling for someone to open a socket so he can make a communication to someone, so he's always running out of time Ð he needs a socket, so Hunter Socket, thank you. Now as you can see, here are some tabs: Photos, Music, Video, and what I can do is I can click to Sync Photos from iPhoto and I can also tell iTunes to put every photo I have on my phone, which I'm not going to do, or selected albums. I prefer selected because I take a lot of pictures and I don't want all that stuff on my phone just because. Now down here I can see the capacity that I have left. I have a 16 gigabyte phone and I have 6 gigabytes free, well almost 7. As you can see I have 1 gigabyte of photos, 130 megabytes of video, 4.6 gigabytes of auto Ð I have a lot of songs and audio books Ð and 1.64 gigabytes of applications. Now what I can do is deselect what I don't want to show up here and I can also go to my music and do the same thing. Select a Playlist or everything I have. Now I highly suggest, unless you have the 32 gigabyte phone, to just select what you really want to listen to because you can quickly eat up all that phone space, or that iPod space. So, I'm going to make a change. I'm going to add some Tom Clancy. As soon as I do that, if I go to a different tab it's going to ask me to Apply the change. I can also go down here and apply by clicking this bottom right-hand button. So I'm going to go to my Podcast, and as you can see here I can click to sync my three most recent new shows or the five most recent or anything on this list here. So as you can see I can do all kinds of things when I make changes to my selections on my phone, and I can also see the applications that I have and videos, and blah, blah, blah. Once again you can click Apply and it will be changed and uploaded to your phone. Now I'm going to hop back over to the Web and I'm actually inside of my MobileMe online interface. I'm going to show you a really clever way to use MobileMe to work with your clients or your partners. I'm currently working on a video game for the iPhone called Hamster Vice: The Roach Wars which should be out in August or September. So I'm having a lot of fun and I'm working in conjunction with a programmer who lives in New York City. So of course it is easy to E-mail him, but why not just have a gallery that I can upload stuff to and that he can access at any time to see how the units are coming along. So here is the gallery that I added. I'm going to click here on this link. This will take me to the actual gallery that he will be able to access so when I have new stuff I can click on this guy right here, this little envelope, and it will open an E-mail and tell him there are new pictures there and he can download, subscribe, and even upload to this gallery. So let me go ahead and show you one of these images here. This is one of the vehicles in the game, a helipad, aircraft, and what he can do is he can download these, make comments and make some suggestions, and then we can go ahead and put them in the game. So, that's how you can use MobileMe and iTunes to really sync not only your content but also sync with your clients or partners across great distances using MobileMe.
