GarageBand enables you with the ability to create ringtones. Some people love them and some people, and my hand is raised, don't. So I'm going to go ahead and show you how to create them. I'll go to File, New and then I can choose the Ringtone from this list here. Notice the bell icon so what we can do is choose to create an example ringtone which we can modify and we can make one from loops and one from voice. So I'll go ahead and choose Example Ringtone and Choose and on my Desktop I'll just call it Sample and then Create. Now what we can do is listen to it by pressing Play. Now imagine being on a train at four o'clock in the morning sleeping and someone has that playing. Not cool. So let's go ahead and talk about how to modify this. I'll go ahead to the very beginning and just like anything else, what we can do is we can go to our Loop Browser and we can choose our loops. So we can go by genre and I'll just add some drums in there just to be funny. And I will go by Moods and I'll just choose something else. So we'll go to Acoustic Guitar and we'll just bring one of those in as well. Let's return to the front and Play. OK, that's pretty, wow. OK. So now that you've created a ringtone and once again, it's the same thing as building a regular song except for the ringtone should not exceed 40 seconds, you can then make the ringtone go to iTunes. So I'm going to go to Share and I'll choose to Send the Ringtone to iTunes. What happens then is the ringtone is sent to iTunes and then when you plug in your iPod or your iPod Touch or your iPhone, you'll then be able to synch that because you'll see a Ringtone Category. So I'll go ahead and send this to iTunes and I'll wait for iTunes to open up. So I'm sure if you have, let me go ahead and put that on pause. If you have an iPhone or iPod or any of those devices, you see that we have this Ringtones Category on the left and when you plug in your device, it shows in the list. Well, when you are ready to sync and add new content, I'm sure you remember or if you've never done it before, when you're about to sync your phone with new content, you have the ability to choose photographs, movies, ringtones and so on to add to your device and then you add them and then sync your phone and you'll have a new ringtone to listen to. So that's pretty much how you can use GarageBand to create your own custom ringtone.
