Rating songs gives you the ability to automatically generate a playlist based on your favorite songs and those songs appear at the very top of your playlist here in this category created by Apple which contains 90's music, music videos and this guy right here is what we're talking about; my top rated. So I want you to pay attention here and you'll see that in the H category, we only have one song called Half Crazy. So I'm gong to go to the Alicia Keyes playlist and I'm going to choose Heartburn here and with the song selected, I'm going to go to my file menu and choose rating and give it five stars and I'm going to show you more than one way to do this rating thing by the way. There's a lot of ways. So let's go back to my top rated and there it is; here's Heartburn. So I'll go back to Alicia Keyes and this time I'm going to control or right click on it, go to rating and put it on none. When I return to my top rated, the song is removed, which is very handy. Let's talk about other ways to rate songs. I can go back to Alicia Keyes again and I can right click or control click and choose get info and a dialog box will appear and let's give it a couple of seconds to show up here and here is the album artwork and I can go to info and see what info I have here. I can go to sorting, I can go to options and then on options, you can see we have my rating. So I can click and drag my mouse to give it five stars or four or three or however many I like. Or I can click right on the fifth star to add all them at one time. click OK and when I go back to my top rated, the song is back in the list again. So there are a lot of ways that you can rate a song and once again, the reason you really want to do that is so that you can find the songs you really enjoy the most and if you want to quickly get to your favorite songs without having to go to each individual playlist, you can choose my top rated and based on how you feel about a song that particular day or week, it, you can take it out very easily and listen to only the songs that you want to hear at that particular time.
