iTunes / Editing Song Info
Subtitles of the Movie
When I import an album or I buy music from the iTunes store, I'm pretty satisfied with the information that the song already has within it. But some people, and I won't mention any names, but some of my friends are very, very knit picky when it comes to sorting out their albums, like to really get in there and edit their information. Let me show you how to do that. Here I am on an album by Baby Face called The Day and I'll choose I Said I Love You and I'll right click or control click to choose get info. When I open up this dialog box, I can change quite a bit of information about this particular song. I can click on the summary tab and I can see what's already in here and embed it into the information contained within a song so I can see the type of audio file it is, the size, the bit rate, the sample rate and everything else. But if I really want to sort things out myself, I can go to info and I can change the name of the song, I can change the artist name, I can put an album artist, I can edit the name of the album, I can add a grouping, I can edit the composer and even put my own comments. I can also chose a genre and check whether it's part of a compilation. I can edit the year, track number and disk number. I can also go to sorting and do the same thing and change quite a few bits of information and really get detailed when it comes to cataloging this or other songs in my library. I can go to options and I can manually change the volume adjustment, I can change the equalizer preset for this song. So I could put it on R n B for example. I can rate this song. I can edit the start and stop time. And I can also have iTunes remember the playback position so when I quit iTunes and I restart this song, it should remember where the song left off. I can also have this on skip when shuffling and I can also make it a part of a gapless album. What I can do as well is I can go to Google.com or any website that I can do a search for and I could enter in I Said I Love You lyrics by Baby Face for example as a search and then I can copy and paste the lyrics for the song right in here. So I can do my karaoke thing. And I will spare you. I will not sing this song for you right now. But maybe later. I can also edit the artwork so I can add artwork, I can delete the artwork that's here and other things. So as you can see, there are tons and tons of options that you can change in the song information itself. So you can really make the albums and songs contained within your iTunes library your own actually as far as how you like to sort them out, how you would have them appear in your playlist and also how the songs sound.
