iTunes / iTunes Store pt. 2

Subtitles of the Movie

Let's take another look at the iTunes store. This time let's see how to actually find a podcast and how to search for music as well as how to buy something. The first thing I'm going to do is show you how I would find a video podcast. As you see, I'm on the iTunes Store in the category here and I'm going to click podcast. Then what I'm going to do is go to my video podcast sections, because I'm a big fan of video podcasts and I'm going to choose something to watch. For example, I'll go to, let's say Onion News Network and what I could at this point is I can double click on one of these shows to get a preview. So let's go ahead to Queen Elizabeth, I'll double click on it and in a moment a viewer will open up which will show me a little preview of the particular show. So that was a quick preview that I could see whether I want this or not and if I like the show, I click subscribe and as you can see, it's free. So it's nothing to worry about. I'll click subscribe and then whenever you subscribe, what happens is the show you selected is going to show up here in your podcast list. It's also going to download the latest episode automatically. As you see here, downloads and this little twirly guy tells me it's downloading. So it's downloading the latest episode and it's probably got some bad language in it so be very careful parents when your children are going to download things and make sure you find the clean version of things. So I've never downloaded anything from this show before, but this actually a good thing because now you know there's a difference between clean shows and explicit shows, so once again, make sure you're very careful that your children or young ones don't download explicit content. So I'm going to go back to my podcast here and I'm going to show you here is the Onion News NETwork video. I can twirl this down and see that I have other shows here, which are all explicit actually and I can click get if I want to get other shows. I'm going to actually twirl this up and I'm going to right click or control click on it and show you how to get rid of it from your list as well. Just choose delete and then you can remove any episodes you may have downloaded. You can keep those files or move them to the trash. So I'll just go ahead and choose move to trash and now the show as well as the podcast is gone from my list. So let's go back to the iTunes store and do a search this time for a song. I'll go up to my search field up here and I'll enter something like Barry White. Then I'll hit enter or return on my keyboard and I can double click on a song to listen to a small segment of it or I can click this arrow here to find out where this song is located. I can find the album it's on, for example. So it's on Barry White's Greatest Hits. I can pay $9.90 for the entire album or I can buy the song I'm interested in for 99 cents. Once I choose either one of these options here or I gift this music by giving it to someone else, I buy the album and as long as you have a .Mac account, you can easily create a one-click purchasing option here which will allow me to, once I enter my password, click buy and the song will appear in my purchased music. And from purchased music I can create a new album called Barry White and then drag that song right from purchase into my new playlist. If you don't have a .Mac account, you can try it for a couple of days. I believe it's like 60 days or something like that or 90 days or 30 days, something like that. Who knows how many days it is? I don't remember actually because I've had .Mac for quite a while now. But you can create a new account, enter your information and then you can click on any song you want to buy or album, click buy and then the song starts to download. So it's pretty easy. You don't have to enter your credit card information over and over again or anything like that. So that is how you can find information on the iTunes store. You can also navigate backwards by clicking on these little buttons here and you can go home by clicking on the house. So have a good time searching for things on the iTunes store. It's very easy to use once you get the hang of it and don't forget; everything you purchase will wind up in your purchased area here and movies and things like that will appear in the TV shows category, movies and music so you can easily sort them out.
