We already spoke about how you can create your very own podcast but what about being on the other end and being a listener of other podcasts. Well what you can do of course is go to the iTunes store and select the podcast category from the main page and then scroll through and find audio podcasts and video podcasts. Now of course audio podcasts a great thing you probably go on a road trip and you're driving and you want to focus on a story and video podcasts are great when you're on the passenger side or you're on a train or on a road trip. But let's talk about other sources for podcasts and that would be the World Wide Web, the good old Internet or Internets as some people say. Now as you can see CNN has podcasts, New York Times has them, their all over the place and all you have to do to find podcasts is go to Google and do a search for podcasts like so and just go ahead and snap back to that into podcasts and you can find all kinds of podcasts as well as information about them. For example podcasts at Wikipedia will even tell you about what podcasts actually are and how they started and all that kinds of good stuff. So, let's go and take a look at some of the podcasts I found for you. First of all we do have some podcasts at CNN, so you can check out what's going on in the world and you can download these, you can also find out the frequency such as CNN daily and this is a daily video and I also mention awhile ago how to subscribe to podcasts and as you see here we have a subscription button or you can just watch this and you can check it out in iTunes as well. So you can get them in more then one way. You also have the audio podcasts on this website indicated by the word audio, let me scroll up a little tiny bit here. In this case you can subscribe, listen and once again go to iTunes and you can check it out by topic, by title and CNN is even kind enough to tell us about podcasting with this learn about podcasting button. Let's check out what the New York Times has to offer. They also offer podcasts for you and they have the audio podcasts, you can once again subscribe and check out the podcast by pressing this button to play it. You can also see the time and the format. Podcast Alley is a website online at podcastalley.com that has a ton of podcasts, you can choose a genre, you can add your own podcast here, you can log into the forum and become a member and you can just become a part of this community. And it really isn't fad, by the way, podcasts are even more popular than ever and anybody can do it. You have the tools now. You have iLife, you have Garage Band, you have everything you need right now in your house to do at least an audio podcast if you have a microphone and video cameras don't cost much. As a matter of fact, you can get a video camera these days for under 200 dollars or 100 dollars that are good enough to give you a web quality. Don't forget you are doing it online so you don't have to have HD quality. And we have podcast.NET, which is another website where you could search by keywords, location, and you can enter a string here for a text search and you can also look at all these categories and all the topics contained within. So podcasts are really a great way to share something you might want to let the world know about. As well as you can take a part in watching podcasts created by other people. It's a really fun thing to do and it costs almost nothing to participate in.
