Subtitles of the Movie
This movie is a rundown of the image nodes. These are images that can be created, imported, or exported through Shake for use as backgrounds, masks, or other inputs on your node tree. The Image tab is located first in the tool tabs. First, we have the Checker node. This creates a checkerboard of the resolution and size that you specify. Color creates a solid color in the resolution that you specify in the Res parameter with bit depth, color, alpha channel information, and Z depth information. Color Wheel generates a color wheel that you can adjust the size and colors of. File In is a very important node in Shake because this brings in external images into the interface, It's covered in detail in the movies on file in and bringing images into Shake. File Out is for outputting files. This is covered in the movies on file out to disk and output methods. Grad is a gradient node. It creates a four color gradient between the four colors defined here, with these color chips, which, of course, you can change. Quick paint, Quick shape, and Roto-shape are all covered in the movies on Quick paint and Roto-shape. Ramp creates a gradient between two edges. It can be set to horizontal or vertical, and you can specify the resolution, bit depth, center of gradient, the colors, the transparencies of each color with the alpha slider, and the Z depth of each color. Rand - this creates a random noise field. You can choose the resolution, bit depth, and density of pixels. Lower values mean fewer pixels and Seed, or the number that the "random" noise field is created from. Rgrad creates a radial gradient where you can set the resolution, bit depth, color and transparencies of your colors, the center of your gradient, the aspect ratio, and the radius of the non-blurred center. As well as the falloff radius, which is the radius of the blurred edge, falloff, or percentage of falloff from hard edged to smooth. The text node is useful for making slates. It can use True-type and Type 1 fonts and automatically searches for all fonts in all installed directories for Mac. It also searches for fonts in the Flash USR/LIB/DPS/ASM on Linux. The text node also lets you manipulate the characters in 3D space and the Camera field of view, here. From the Other tab, the Tile node acts a lot like an image node in that it generates imagery based on an existing picture. It tiles an image within itself the total number of tiles based on the horizontal and vertical values you input, here, in the NX tile and NY tile parameters. In summary, all image creation and output functions reside in the Image tab of the tool tab. It can be used to create, import, and export pictures and files to and from your composite.
