Now, a couple of other brief notes about the behaviors that we've just configured, our parameter behaviors and that is can we animate these things? Well, I bet you're already guessing that the answer to that is a resounding yes. So if I use the techniques that we've learned throughout this entire chapter and apply them to the behaviors, let's just take for example the randomize. If I want that to start out at virtually no randomization, no wiggle in the text, I can start my recording and add a keyframe. I could play through, get to the very end and I can ramp up the overall effect of the randomization behavior by the time we get to the end of the clip that I'm playing here. So let's turn off the recording and you can watch the amount continue to increase over the life of that little playback clip. So can you animate the behaviors? Absolutely you can. Can you go and add other behaviors? We've just looked at this randomize behavior as it applies to the position of the text. What about to the scale of the text? Can I randomize that as well? Well, you absolutely can. You may want to rename it if you want to but the behavior is still randomized so it's a different instance of randomize. This applies to the scale characteristic. So if I go here and select randomize one, notice the amount isn't a set number but instead is a percentage. So if I want to randomize this by 45 percent, what's this going to look like? It's going to bounce back and forth between its original scale and scale plus 45 percent. Can you animate these behaviors? You absolutely can. Just click on Record and there you go. Don't need to record another keyframe animation here but again, you can apply those same techniques to these behaviors as well as you've just seen. So by the time you get towards the end of this chapter, you now have really a very powerful basic set of building blocks from which to take just about anything that you can work with in Motion and animate it through time and space and change the properties, the behavior and characteristics of any layer of any of your Motion projects. Very powerful tools that you just learned.
