I imagine there won't be too many occasions that you'll want to record audio directly into Premiere Pro but that doesn't mean Adobe doesn't provide this function for those occasions when you do want to do this. Maybe you'll want to watch the play back of a clip you filmed and subsequently record a live voice-over narration tracking to act as a commentary for what's on the screen. Now, of course the beauty of this method of adding audio after the footage has been shot is you can add narration in a controlled studio environment rather then wrestling the elements outdoors and sadly not quite achieving the audio fidelity you require. Well it's an easy process to record into Premiere Pro should you want to. For example on this audio track here, Audio Track 1 if we didn't have this video clip here of course then we could record onto the track. Let's just remove it. Now the first thing we have to do is - see this Button here where it says Enable Track for Recording? Make sure you click on there first of all and then immediately you get this drop down list here Track Input Channel and then by clicking on there you can choose the input that your microphone is connected to, then you will just click on this Button down here where it says Record and as soon as you click on the Play Button then your recording will start to take place OK? I won't record anything at the moment owing to the fact that I'm recording this narration for this screen recording via the same sound card and the convoluted method that I've got it all set-up, but probably record some feedback, some unwanted sounds. OK? But that's the process that you need to go through. Very simple, very easy and very quickly done. OK? Right. Now of course another advantage of this method of recording straight into Premiere Pro, a narrative track whilst you're watching a video clip is that you can record your narration in sections so any mistakes can be deleted as necessary and possibly to gain a studio quality clarity you can optimize the audio from within Premiere Pro as we've seen previously or better still head over to Sound Booth or Audition to create a crisp and clear post production recording. OK? Let's leave this tutorial here and this section now that we've gone through a number of tutorials dealing with the audio side of recording and playback within Premiere Pro CS5. OK? Let's move onto the next section.
