Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 Tutorials

Introduction / What this Tutorial Covers

Subtitles of the Movie

Before we begin, I need to orientate you on how these movies work. I'm currently using screen capturing software to record my voice and computer screen. The video images you'll see on my screen are being captured by this screen recording program. Due to the limitations of this recording software, sometimes the video images you see playing back in my monitor window of Premiere Pro may look a little jerky, and when there's sound, the sound may be slightly distorted or uneven. Rest assured, however, that when you play back the video sequences on your computer, the playback will be just fine. Premiere Pro CS3 has quite a deep feature set, so I will not be able to cover all that you can do with it, but I will be covering quite a bit of it. This course is organized from roughly the simple to the more complex, in the same order that you would organize your video editing workflow. After providing an introduction to the Premiere Pro application interface, I start with information on setting up Premiere Pro project files and project presets and also working with offline files. Next, I demonstrate how to get assets into your projects by capturing, digitizing, and importing clips. Then, I cover how to organize and manage clips in the Project panel and view clips in the Monitor window. Editing techniques are covered next, including how to perform storyboard edits, insert and overlay edits, rolling edits, ripple edits, three- and four-point edits, and how to split, copy, and paste clips and perform multi-camera editing. Next, I cover how to add video and audio transitions, titles, and effects to your Timelines, including working with fixed and standard effects, animating effects with keyframes and details about keying and color correction effects. I also cover working with audio clips, audio tracks and channels, and how to perform real time recording with the audio mixer, and much, much more. I conclude the course with a long section on the export options and settings with Premiere Pro CS3, including movies on export formats, HD video, exporting to the Web, exporting to Flash video and exporting to tape. Let me now move on to the next movie and review some of the new and noteworthy editions and changes that have been introduced with this CS3 version of Premiere Pro.
