Before I wrap up this section of the tutorial on acquiring content for your Premier Pro projects, I should say a few words by way of an introduction to Adobe On Location. On Location is a new product to the Premier universe. It's a signal monitoring application bundled with Premier Pro CS3 that lets you adjust the video signal coming from your camcorder before you shoot your video and then facilitates the recording of this video directly to your hard drive. On Location enables you to eliminate the capture process by recording SD and HD video directly from your camera to a laptop or workstation where you can then instantly review any shot. On Location also makes it easier to log clips during shoots, maximize camera image quality by helping you calibrate your camera, check levels, and monitor your signal. I've not actually used On Location, but Adobe claims it will help you save tape and save time, avoid problems, and improve the quality of your On Location shoots by using the tools, Virtual Reference Monitor, Comprehensive Wave 4 Monitor, Vectorscope, and Audio Spectrum Analyzer, so all in all it looks like it's a good addition to your Premier tool set, especially if you do a lot of on-location shooting. I should mention that On Location requires Bootcamp if you're on the Macintosh operating system. And that'll wrap up this section of the tutorial on capturing, digitizing, and importing project assets. In this section you've learned how to add assets to projects, how to capture video footage. You've learned about the Capture window to do this; how to capture DV and HDV video as well as HD video. You've learned how to capture analog video and analog audio. You've also learned how to perform Batch Capturing of multiple clips at a time, how to import Premier and Illustrator files, as well as Adobe Photoshop images. You've also learned how to generate Premier media, such as Black Video, Leaders, Counters and Color Bars. You've also got an introduction to Adobe Bridge and Adobe On Location. Let me now move on to the next section of the tutorial, Working with Project Assets.
