In the previous tutorial, I went over modifying existing brushes and saving them as your own custom brush. I am going to extent that here. There are a couple of other artistic avenues you can explore with brushes. Many of you don’t realize you can actually save a photograph and make that a custom brush. And the way you do that is exactly the way we did it before. Just go to Edit, we have your photograph open, define brush preset, call it whatever name you would like, ok, click on your brush, new file, scroll down to the bottom, click on the brush just made and you have your photograph as a brush. I would like to show you interesting kind of artwork. You could actually create kind of a blind drawing effect with this. You have your photograph open, you need to define the shadows a little more, get this little darker in contrast. So I put a curves adjustment on here and drag it down a bit. And now we are going to do the same thing. We are going to define brush preset. We will call this number 2. Now we are going to go to the pencil tool. It’s nested with the brush. We are going to switch to the one that we just made. You can see the difference here, there’s more definition in this and you click on here and you can see. It makes a very interesting kind of a line artwork effect. And what you can also do is you can define the brush with not just the whole photograph. You could actually make a selection rather than having those sharp edges around there you could select inside here with a feathered selection and to find that it’s the brush instead but as you can see it’s kind of interesting and something else that you may want to explore. Now you can also scan in items. And I have included some brush presets with the CD. Let me show you the one of the brush presets here. Once again, if you want to load brushes, a set of brushes that somebody sends you, you are just going to go to load brushes and it’s gone to the default Photoshop brushes folder. I have some brushes here and these marks are very interesting. Let's get a new file, new. So as you can see, you can really, you are only limited by your imagination what you can do with brushes. You can come up with some really interesting ideas to make something a brush.
