Now, although Lightroom does a real good job of putting together a high quality slideshow with lots of options and lots of nice graphical choices available to it, the one weakness in the entire shooting match is that you cannot export your slideshow to, say, the Flash format or to QuickTime or to the Windows Media file, the WMV file that you're probably used to. You can't do it. The only way that you can view your slideshow is on a computer that has Lightroom loaded on it and play it within Lightroom. Now, yes, you have the double monitor, second window capability. You click on that and you can present your slideshow on that second monitor at a trade show or a presentation or, as we have done here, as viewing wedding photos to your clients, but you can't take the slideshow as it is meant to be shown, put it on a CD, and then send it to all your friends and neighbors. You can't do it. It won't play the way it's meant to be viewed within Lightroom. But when we talk about exporting your slideshow, the only think that you can do is, down here in the lower left hand corner of your screen, you'll see Export JPG. You can take each of the individual slides in the slideshow and export them individually as a JPG file and then you simply look at them in the Windows Media Viewer and they become simply, you know, glorified photographs at that point. Or you can export your slideshow as a PDF file with the same thing, which means that you take the PDF file, open it, and one by one, you can view the slides and it will look like this, but the presentation won't be there. You won't, you know, the transition from one slide to the next, the pacing, the look of filling up the entire screen with just the images and the graphical elements that you want in there, and all of the things, all the accoutrements, all of the, you know, the sound track and so on does not come to life in anyplace other than within the program Lightroom. So, I'm hoping that Adobe will change that in the future and make it exportable to a number of different media files so that people can put their slideshows on disks and distribute them widely, but so far, we do not have that capability. So, that's the Slideshow module in Lightroom.
