Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 Tutorials

Overview of Lightroom 2 / Overview

Subtitles of the Movie

Lightroom was first released as a finished product to the public in final form on February 19, 2007. Now, Lightroom is probably one of the most heavily researched and certainly has spent more time in Beta form than any other Adobe title, if not all software titles. It had over four Beta versions before the final was released and, at only 18 months since its introduction, we have seen four updates, including Version 2, which was released on July 29, 2008. Now, no one can say Adobe is not paying attention to this title. Now, the question always comes up, what's the difference between Lightroom and Photoshop with Bridge? Well, now, this is a great question and one Adobe wrestles with as well. Simply put Lightroom is Adobe Bridge on steroids. It's 80 percent a cataloging and image organizational program, and 20 percent everything else, but the everything else is enough icing on the cake to make it worth its weight in gold to the busy high volume photographer who wants to stay organized and wants easy global adjustments on his images and easy preparation for output, whether that's a contact sheet, final prints, the Web, or as a demonstration slideshow. Now, make no mistake: once you come to grips with this incredible program and everything it can do, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it.
