Now, if you have Lightroom Version 2.0 installed, which is probably the case, since you're looking at this tutorial, you should have, by now, had a notice from Adobe about the free upgrade to Version 2.1. Now, this new version is mainly adding new camera RAW conversion profiles, such as the Canon 1,000D, the 50D, the Fuji Finepix IS Pro, and the Kodak Easyshare, Kodak Z1015IS. Then of note, really, is the Leaf Aptus and the Leaf AFI medium format backs. Those have also been included. The 26 and the 27 for both series of those medium format backs. Notice also they've included the profiles for the Nikon D700, which is probably one of the best cameras on the market for that price range. The D90 is also included, which is no slouch in and of itself. The Nikon Coolpix P6000 is included. Now, of note is the Sigma DP1, which is one of the best compact cameras on the market. It is one of the few compact cameras that will generate RAW files. It's a very, very good compact. The Sony A900 that a lot of people are talking about is a 24 megapixel, full frame DSLR that's causing a lot of conversation amongst photographers and the RAW conversion profiles are also available for it in Lightroom 2.1. Now, this basic functionality of the program has not changed, so we will be using Version 2.1 from this point forward in our tutorial. Now, this just serves to emphasize what I said in an earlier lesson, that Adobe will continue the tradition of upgrading and updating on a regular basis. We may well get another upgrade before this tutorial is finished. We will, of course, include it if that happens. Now, you can be secure in the knowledge that Adobe will continue to make Lightroom an even better program.
