Image Sources / Film - 35mm/Medium Format/Large Format
Subtitles of the Movie
Alright, we have seen thirty-five millimeter film, now let us take a look at some of the other films that you might have the occasion to use and I think you will see a drastic improvement in quality and detail, color saturation and just every way it can be measured, the images are superior. Now this is a large format, you see these big box cameras that are set up on a tripod and they look like the thing that Ansel Adams used to use. In fact, he did use large format camera and this is a shot of some aspens on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, and let us enlarge this, just look at the detail, I mean its just amazing, the detail that you can find on these with no grain, and there just is not any grain, and there is so much detail and so much quality on this image. The second one is a little more familiar to you, it is medium format, it is pretty much a two by two inch square exposure, much, much larger than thirty-five millimeter but again, there is no grain, I mean none that is detectable at all. That is because the slide is so large, the detail is so fine, that you just really cannot see it. They give you a very, very good image, you can enlarge this to no end, especially the large format here. So if you've got the money, go for it.
