Take a look now at our last lasso tool; it is called the polygonal lasso tool and that is just a fancy name for drawing a straight edge. Here is how it works. Put the cursor in the image, left-click, hold it down, and I am not clicking, I am not holding down anything, I am just moving the mouse; it will drag that straight edge wherever it wants to go, click it to anchor it, click it to anchor it and so on. You've got to look for a little circle that appears beside the tool that tells you that the lines are connected, then you can click down and it will connect and create a selection. So that is what that does and that is really feathered it out too much. Let me go back on the feathering, I was just practicing with it, and I will just put it back to where it should be, alright. Click down, click down, click down and there is your selection. Alright, now let us do something a little creative here; give us an anchor point, come down, and then of course we can inverse the selection, and there is the resulting head shot. Now let us do that again and this time we are going to increase the feather to 150. It is a very high-res shot and probably a lower-res shot we wouldn't feather that much, but that's what it is going to take to do this one. As we come down and then we inverse, erase, and there we go. What do you think? Then of course you can drag that to another image and place it on top of another image and do something really cool. Lasso tool is pretty flexible, a pretty neat thing to get to know.
