Alright then, this is what we have done on the levels dialog box, we are going to save that because we want to keep it, and next we are going to go to the curves adjustment layer, double-click on the little icon. We have already been over in detail what the curves dialog box does, assuming that you understand what this does, what we are going to do is we are going to anchor the exact midpoint, and we are also going to anchor the upper brighter areas of the tonal range. And the reason we are doing that is we have already adjusted for brightness, okay? We have already brightened this image up to a level that we wanted. In other words, we want this area of the spectrum to stay exactly where it is. That looks great. All we want to do is fill in the darker areas to give us a richer, deeper more enjoyable image to look at, and I mean the basic bottom line is we are going to add contrast but we are going to do it in a much better way than the contrast adjustments. So we are going to click on the midpoint here between middle and total dark, and just pull back, this is something you do to taste, you just mess with it until it looks right to you. One thing you should get in the habit of doing is before and after. Before and after, and again, as we have mentioned before, we are adjusting for the face, we are adjusting for the face in this image and secondarily for the body. That is the adjustment we want, that to me looks like it is about right and actually maybe it needs a tincture more here and a just a tincture there. There you go, that is perfect. What is so great about this curves dialog box is these tiny little adjustments that make such a difference on such a defined section of the tonal range that really finish off your image and make it look just right and I think that just about got it. Now this image is not finished by any means, we have sharpening to do, we have little adjustments on the color, because we've got a red in here instead of a nice brown skin tone and I am going to adjust all the colors later, but just strictly from a contrast brightness standpoint I think that is about where it needs to be.
