We have seen how to lighten and darken your image, we have seen how to lighten and darken portions of your image. Now let us turn to contrast, which is part and parcel of lightening and darkening. You do not lighten without adding contrast and very rarely do you just do contrast without lightening your image or darkening your image, whatever the case may be. So anyway, the different ways we are going to look at contrast are, we are going to the levels dialog box, which we can use to affect contrast. Also we are going to take a look at the curves dialog box. We are going to look at the one that you really do not want to use, which is brightness and contrast. You do not want to use these but I am going to show them to you so that you know what not to do and why not to do it. We will be taking a look at all three of these functions, and show you different ways to improve your image. So sit tight, here we go.
