There are actually two types of basic slideshows that you could create in Bridge. One is temporary and the other can be saved. To create a quick, temporary slideshow select the images that you want to show. I've used the Light Table View in Bridge to make that easier. And then come up here to View, Slideshow Options. Set the options as desired. Personally I find the Zoom Back and Forth very annoying because it zooms in and out on each image and I find that very irritating. But you may want to repeat the slideshow and you need to set the slide duration. Five seconds can be a little bit long, two seconds is a pretty fast show but for right now we'll leave it set to two second. You can opt to have the caption off or page numbers, full, whatever you particularly want. I recommend that you scale your pictures to fit. You don't want to scale them to fill because in that case parts of your image may be unexpectedly hidden if the aspect ratio doesn't match the aspect ratio of the monitor. Also set a Transition Type. You can experiment with the different ones and the speed. When you're happy, hit Play. And as you can see, the slideshow begins and it's a very easy way of looking at your images. I'll hit the Escape Key to go back to Bridge. The unfortunate thing about that slideshow is that it can't be saved. You can also create that same kind of slideshow by just coming up here to View, Slideshow or using the shortcut Control L on a PC, Command L on a Mac. To create a slideshow that you can save, switch to the Output Module and then choose PDF. Although PDFs can be printed documents reviewed online, they can also be viewed in a slideshow format. Begin by choosing the template. Usually I start with a Fine Art Mat but if you wanted several images to be visible at once, you might choose one of these other options. Under Page Preset, choose Photo. There are some preset sizes here that you can use or you can specify the size that you want yourself. For example, I could set this to 1024, 768 and you can specify vertical or horizontal layout. Quality; normally I like high quality but you can use whichever you want and set your background. I think that the images pop a little bit more on a black background. If you want to create a password for your PDF, you can certainly do that. Next you choose how to place the image. Normally I opt to remove all the borders and choose Use Auto Spacing so that the image will fill the space in one direction either horizontally or vertically. If you'd like file names or extension to be on there, then check the Overlays. If not, leave them unchecked. And the for Playback, choose Open in Full Screen Mode if you want it to take over the screen. Set how long you want for the duration of each slide and whether you want it to be continuous so that it keeps looping. Then set your transition and whether you want a fast transition, medium or slow and whether or not add a watermark, which I don't usually add to a slideshow. And when you're done, then you can click View PDF After Save. Give it a name and a place to store it. It will create the PDF for you and there's our slideshow. You can export this PDF to be played on other computers or devices that can open a PDF file. For more sophisticated slideshows, on a Mac you may want to use PowerPoint, Aperture, Keynote or FotoMagico. And on a PC, try ProShow Gold or PowerPoint. With those programs you can easily add more effects, including music with most of them. Not with PowerPoint though. But don't forget the basic slideshows that are available within Photoshop.
