We already experimented with how to play an action on a single image. This time I'd like to show you how to play an action on an entire folder. I'm gonna show you on my desktop very quickly this folder called trip and inside this folder are images that I took with my digital camera of my trip to Washington, D.C. last summer. So here are some cool pictures alright. And what we are going to do is apply that same tundra effect to these images and the cool thing about it is I'm gonna tell Photoshop to save them in an entirely different folder. So I'm gonna go back to Photoshop and I'm gonna go to a new command here called file, automate, batch. Alright so what we are gonna do now is play the set that has the tundra action and we are gonna choose a source folder, so I'm gonna choose the trip folder which has the photographs in it. And then here I am going to go to destination and from the list I'm gonna choose folder and then I'm gonna choose to make a folder on my desktop called destination. You can call it whatever you like. I'll click create and I'm gonna choose it. So the action is going to take the images from this folder, that's called trip, and gonna place them in the destination folder. And what I am gonna do is I'm gonna leave everything as it is and click OK. Now you, you'll also gonna notice something else. Because we never saved our file in the uh actual document itself we are gonna have the opportunity to name each of these images and give, give it a completely different file format. So I'm gonna click OK and as the action plays back you'll see it happen here in the uh actual control panel and I can go to the file here and I can name it something else if I want to and give it a different extension. So for this one it'll be JPEG and I can call it image1 and I can choose the uh quality and it's gonna go to the next image. And the same thing is gonna open up so I can give this one a different kind of file format and give this one gif call it image2, save that one. It's gonna ask me to flatten layers, I'll say yes and its gonna move on to the next one and drop all the actions on that one and I can give this one a pdf and save pdf. It's gonna move on to the next image and I can once again give this one a different kind of file format, so I can give this one a PNG file format. And I can skip around and give a image five name if I want to. And it's gonna go to last image and I can just leave it as it is and give it a Photoshop file format, save it, let it go to the next image if, if there's another one. And last but not least I'll leave this one as it is as well and hit save. And then it's all done. Now I can go to my desktop, double click on the destination folder and I have all these different images saved in different file formats. All with the action applied to it. How cool is that?
