Another option I have working with the type tool is creating a type box to put your text in. So I'm going to drag that type layer off into the trash, and I'll choose the type tool, and I'll click and a drag diagonal box in my document. Often when I'm working with type, I'll have my character and paragraph palette on my screen. And you can easily do that by clicking on this icon in the options palette. And I can see that I need to change the leading in this text, before I proceed to tell you how you can manipulate the edge of your text box. And what's great about this text box is that if you change the size of the text box by passing over one of the corner or side handlebars, and notice my cursor changes to the double-headed arrow, I can drag in my text box and the text will re-flow to fit the text box. Well that's pretty straightforward. I'm going to drag-select this text and hit the delete key, so the text is gone but my text box still remains. And I happen to have a text editor open in the background here, with a fair amount of text. What I'm going to do is simply select this text, and you can of course do this with any text editor, such as Microsoft Word. And with my text selected, I'm going to copy it to the clipboard. Back in Photoshop, all I need to do is choose paste, and it will be pasted into my textbox. Well I can see that it is awfully large for this particular text frame, so what I need to do is select all of the text and change the point size. So one way to select all your text on a type layer is to double click on the 'T' thumbnail in the layers palette, and notice that all of my text has been selected. And now of course I can change the point size. And another nice feature I want to draw your attention to is the fact that Photoshop will actually hyphenate your text for you, so you can see that there is a hyphen right there. And if we change the text box size, my hyphen will change as well. Also notice if you see a plus in the lower right hand corner handlebar, that indicates that there is a text over set. So there is actually more text than is being displayed in your text box. So you might have to do some more manipulation such as reduce the type size further, or edit it by copying and pasting parts of it in a new text box.
