This image is starting to come together, but at this time I might want to change my thumbnail size, because I'm getting a lot of layers here. So I'm going to go back to palette options, and make them a little bit smaller and easier to see. And I'm also going to add a few folder sets so that I can start to manage similar files. Just going to drag this into the folder set, and I'll rename this one 'blur flower'. Well I notice one thing, is that my snail needs a shadow. So what I'm going to do is add a new empty layer, and drag it under the snail, so that I am editing the layer under the snail but above the flower. And just choose black with a brush, increase the brush size, and this is really where my Wacom tablet comes in handy. Because I can paint lightly or press hard and get a very dark mark. What I am going to do is just paint in a shadow here till it basically looks ok. Maybe come out here and add a little bit. And often brush marks might look a little bit too sharp, so another nice trick that I use is to blur things like this. So I'm going to just choose my Gaussian blur under the filter menu. And I can see it's set fairly high, so I'm going to drag it back down and blur it just a little bit. And since preview is enabled, you can see it actually blur that layer in real time, which is very helpful to get a feel of what your affect will look like. So I'm going to go ahead and commit to that. And maybe back off on the opacity just a bit. And well that's looking ok, but I might need to add actually another shadow layer. So I'm going to add another one that's little bit lighter to my snail. And that's looking a little bit better.
