The TIFF file format (which stands for tagged image file format) is a very popular format which is supported by almost all image editing applications, as well as page layout application. You can in this version of Photoshop actually choose to save layers with TIFF. So I'm going to go down and choose the TIFF format. But generally I would discard any layers. And if you do that of course it will save a copy for you, collapsing all your layers into one layer. So I'm going to go ahead and choose save, and we have a couple of options for image compression. We can choose to not compress our image, or we can run the LZW type of image compression, and LZW is a loss-less image compression scheme. So it will actually makes your files a little bit smaller without introducing any image compression artefacts. We could also choose zip if you want, and if you do that, Photoshop gives you this warning that it's not supported by older types of applications. So I'm going to choose no, and stick with the LZW. For byte order, you need to choose the byte order for the next computer platform that will be using this image. I'll just stick with Macintosh for this, but if you are going to be using it on a PC, you might choose PC. Some applications support the image pyramid, and this will generate a few additional resolution images that can be used with certain applications. And since I've chosen to not include any layers, discard layers and save as a copy has been automatically chosen for me.
