Subtitles of the Movie

Here we've got the same file that we were using in the previous movie but this time instead of exporting to a standalone SWF file embedded in HTML, we're going to export this so that we can use it in Flash directly and to do that we'll pull down the File Menu, again we'll go to Export. Instead of choosing SWF, we're going to choose Flash Pro. Now, the options we're going to get here are going to be very similar that we saw in the previous movie. Again, we can scale the movie but since I set it up at the size I want to use it, I'm just going to accept these. Again I'm going to accept the range. I don't want to rasterize pages or flatten the transparency because I want to be able to edit this within Flash. And again, we've got a choice of converting the text to vector paths, raster images or Flash text. Now, since we're using this on the same computer I'm using it, obviously I would like to be able to edit the text and that's one of the great features. So I'm going to choose this. Perhaps if you were sending a file to somebody else you'd want to make vector paths with the text so that they wouldn't have to worry about fonts. So we'll just click in OK like that, let it do its stuff and then I'm going to come down. I've got Flash running here and we're going to open the file. I have it in My Recent here so I can just click on it. It opens the Flash document. It has to do its thing for it, gets it all done. Now, it'll give it an Untitled Document. You're going to have to save it as a Flash document. Now let me go to View, Fit in Window so that we can see it. Now, it just seems as if it's one page but if we go down to the Flash timeline and then click on another frame, we can see it there. It's Page 2, Page 3. Now, if you want to edit it, we'll let me select the Selection Tool. Then you can just double click in here, double click again. I have to do it a couple of times to get into the text. That's the way the text is edited and there it is. We can just go and edit this. Oh, I love this feature because if you've ever tried drawing in Flash, until you start really integrating it with the Adobe products, it's a little bit awkward. I must admit, I'm no Flash expert and I certainly don't know this new version so perhaps drawing is easier but for me to do it in InDesign, just export it and then be able to do any Flash animation that I want from within Flash, oh boy, this is great.
