Navigating the Document / Multiple Windows
Subtitles of the Movie
This movie is about having multiple windows open. Now, you probably know about having multiple windows open in the sense of different documents. If I pull down the window menu, you can see the list of documents down here that are currently open and now I can click on one and switch back to the other, like that, but that's not really what I'm talking about here. Let me just open this one and close it. I'm not going to save the changes. Here we have just one document open now, but what we can do is have multiple versions of this document or multiple windows, so I will choose new window here and if we pull down our menu here, we can see, here we have it. We have a :1 and :2 at the end. So what's the point of this? Well, let me show you. If I pull down the window menu, then arrange and choose tile and I'll tile vertically. We can see them both here. So I'm going to select this one here, but this time I'm actually going to zoom in like this, tight like this and then I can start working on this. So if I select this spider and start moving him up, I can see what it looks like on the full page view. I can scroll in even tighter like this and, well, I moved text. I didn't mean to do that. Ctrl- or command-Z. I can select this spider and just fine tune him so that he isn't covering the text, like this and at the same time see what it looks like on the full screen. Now, this is really useful when you're working tight up because you can see at the micro level what you're doing, yet in this window here, you can look at it in the macro level so that you can get a good look and feel of how it looks like on your page. So I like using this sometimes because it just gives you two perspectives at once.
