Subtitles of the Movie

Getting around inside of your Adobe Illustrator documents can be done in several different ways. I'm going to quickly just draw out a big star and I'm just going to put this in the middle of the document and give it a color and I'm going to show you how we can actually move around in the document to see the parts that we want to work with. One of the ways you can change how you see your document as far as size is by going to the bottom-left corner and choosing a magnification. So let's say I choose 300 percent. Alright, that's great but now what if I want to get to a corner of the star? How do I actually move around without using the scrollbars? And if course, you can if you want to use the scrollbars. You can hold down the Spacebar on your keyboard which will automatically activate this tool here, which is called the Hand Tool. So instead of clicking this and moving around and choosing another tool, you can be on any other tool and simply hold down Space and move around in your document. And when you let go of the Spacebar the tool you had active is still available to you and that's one of the ways I like to actually move around, especially when I'm zoomed in to a document to do some very fine detail work. I want to show you another great tool to navigate. It's called the Navigator Panel actually that lives in the window menu. And this is the same type of panel you'll find inside of Photoshop. So if you saw me talk about this in the Photoshop CS4 or any version of Photoshop that has this panel, then you know how this tool works already. We can use this text field to enter an increment, to zoom in and out. We can use this little mountain range icon to zoom out by clicking on it once and you click on it again to keep zooming. You can zoom in by going to the bigger mountain range to zoom in your document in increments and you can also use this slider. Now, if you're really, really zoomed in and you want to do some fine work on like an eyeball or eyelashes or hair and you really don't want to use the spacebar, you can grab this red box here inside of the Navigator Panel itself, click and hold it down and simply mov it around to find the portion of your document that you like to see. I find this by far the fastest way to easily move around inside of a document and let me tell you why. Let's say I don't have the Navigator open. I have to hold down the spacebar and just kind of keep dragging forever until I get to this bottom corner. Whereas I could have just clicked and moved it over and there I am. So I think you'll find this is a very useful tool when you want to work with your documents. So you don't ever have to worry about zooming in too much and having an unwieldy document in which to move. So those are two methods available; the Scrollbars and the Navigator available to actually move around in your document and you can zoom in with this text field, these sliders, the mountain range and this little pop-up down here.
