Subtitles of the Movie

When you're working in Illustrator, you'll find that often times you'll need more choices when it comes to applying strokes, or applying brushes, or anything else that has a library associated with it. Let me give you an example. I'm going to very quickly draw out a brush stroke, all right, that has a pattern applied to it. And you can find those right here of course with the Brushes panel, and we'll talk more about how to create patterns and all that kind of great stuff later on in upcoming lessons. But let's say I want more options. Let's say I want to create an artistic stroke, and I'm like, All right, this is great but I only have two choices. Where are more choices available? In a lot of the panels you'll see on the bottom left hand corner Library menus. In this case we have a Brush Library menu, and I can choose Artistic, and then I can choose to apply a stroke to my artwork based on what's in that library. And we have this very nice watercolory attribute applied to this brush. Now I'm going to go ahead and show you something. I'll go to swatches. And once again we have the same option down here, Swatch Libraries. And we can choose all kinds of categories and bring those into our Illustrator artwork. So let's say I want art history. I can choose ancient, and now I have a bunch of library choices to choose from and drag them right on into my swatches. Now because I used the library, I have more choices available to me as far as swatch colors. So I want you guys to keep an eye out for panels that offer you this libraries option because it can make your Illustrator artwork even more unique because you're going to use more than what you just see here. You can go to the libraries now and add even more effects to your artwork.
