In this video tutorial I'm going to provide you some guidance so that you can go and find even more information about working with Adobe Framemaker 9. Once you've installed the software application one of the best and first things I'd recommend is to choose Help and review the Help Topics and User Guide that are included with the software. Adobe also provides a full set of online resources, this includes things like the User Guides and tutorials as well as links to the Adobe Support Pages, Product Updates and User to User Forums. Click on any of these and automatically you're connected to the Adobe website. On the Adobe website one of the places that you should explore is www.Adobe.com /Products, Slash, Framemaker. This is the Adobe Framemaker 9 Home Page and it includes a link to download the free trial. So if you don't have the software yet this would be one of the first place that you need to go to get started, especially if you're interested in trying out some of the things that have been shown to you in the video tutorials. As mentioned the Framemaker Launcher allows you to connect to pages like this one, which has the entire Adobe Framemaker 9 User Guides. There's also pages that link to tutorials on how to use Adobe Framemaker 9 and if you're interested in upgrading your skills and formally getting certified Adobe has a page dedicated to that as well. I'm an Adobe Certified Expert in Adobe Framemaker 9 and I'm also a certified Technical Trainer. I provide a wide range of training services. My company is Publishing Smarter and we work with clients to improve the content creation, management and distribution workflow. I've personally been working with Adobe Framemaker since 1992 and have a very good understanding of what the application is capable of doing and also where its limitations are. I provide software training and on our website we have a link to all of our training courses, included in that are courses such as the Framemaker for Authors that these tutorials are based on. As well as Framemaker for Structured Authors or for users who need to work with Dita. I also provide training on Template Development and a lot of the structural side of Framemaker if you need to work with XML. Finally we also provide a lot of legacy file conversion, so I have a good understanding of the issues that people who are coming to Framemaker from other tools like Microsoft Word might run into and that comes across in the training that we provide. All of the resources that I've pointed out though come down to this, Adobe Framemaker 9 is an incredibly powerful software tool, however if you don't know how to use it right you're going to run into frustrations, you're going to encounter a lot of things that you perceive to be limitations of the software and that's not necessarily the case. Start off by going through all of the tutorials if need be a second time, review your videos, go to the Adobe Framemaker 9 website and read as much as you can about the product but also spend time actively working with it. I have a set of tutorials and when clients work their way through these they end up learning so much more then just by learning or just by watching.
