Adobe FrameMaker 9 Overview / Application Interface
Subtitles of the Movie
In this video tutorial we're going to explore the Application Interface of Adobe FrameMaker 9. The Application Interface contains many visual components to provide an authoring environment to support the creation, editing and managing of content. This includes components to identify and manage content, simplifying tasks such as inserting or modifying text, tables, images for any other user to find content. The Interface also provides quick access to commonly used features and improves the writing experience when working with your content. When FrameMaker's first launched this screen appears. This could be considered by some people to be a default. It includes things like the recent items, showing you files that you've worked with; Shortcuts to creating new documents, or access to some of the standard Templates; and quick access to resources, or even parts of the Adobe website. However, the day-to-day user environment that I consider to be the Application Interface is what you actually see when you open up files. So I'm just going to reopen a recent document. In this default environment I'm seeing things based on the authoring perspective, but I can go in and change my workspace and rather than using the Authoring I can choose something such as Managing Content, or go in and choose Manage Graphics, Review. In this case I'm going to switch over to Review and again you can see that the Default appearance automatically changes. Most of the Interface is user configurable. We'll explore that in other tutorials.
