Understanding FrameMaker Workspace / Quick Access Bar

Subtitles of the Movie

The quick access bar - we are going to talk about that. Let's take a look at the view menu. Go to view and you’ll see there is an option checked off called quick access bar. The quick access bar lies right here across the top. Starting off with some of the tools we have make a line dashed; make a line solid; rotate camera clockwise; rotate clockwise; align right; align vertical (which is for centering); align left; align bottom; align horizontal center; align top; move right; move left; move down; move up. Now this is the next button; the previous button; and this button right here allows me to move to the next menu. Now we are in the next menu in the quick access bar: custom ruling and shading; shrink wrap column width; straddle; align bottom, middle, top; remove row or column; add columns to the right; add rows below (this all has to do with tables and frames); move insertion point to top left cell; select table; select column body cells; select column and select row. So all these options are primarily dealing with tables; this allows me to cycle through the quick access bar. I will go to the third menu: insert table; footnote; anchored frame; spell checker; find and change (very important for finding and changing words); make text upper case; use initial capital letters; make text lower case; decrease font size; increase font size; underline; italic; bold; plain. Now here on the left side we have our undo; paste; copy; cut; print; save; open; and create a new document. This little doodad right here allows you to control your quick access bar, and if I click that, you will see, I actually get my quick access bar and I can actually cycle through all the things that we pretty much went over - which is very neat. I’m actually going to move it back, and cycle again: we have gravity; snap; object properties; scale; flip left; flip up or down; unsmooth; smooth; reshape; distribute; send to back; bring to front (which controls the stacking order); ungroup; group; and that's pretty much it. So this allows you to cycle through all the options that are involved - there's a great number of options. That's exactly what the quick access bar is for. ptions. That's exactly what the quick access bar is for.
