Ok for this file that we are working with, volcano_masterpage.fm, we're going to go to special and choose add disconnected pages. We're going to add the disconnected pages after page one, number of pages to add, and we can use the ‘our page’ template, and we can click add, and then Ok. And here you go, you now have one page, which is connected to the third page, but the second page is not connected with any other. Well, what if you do want to actually connect it, there are ways to actually do this. If you go to format, customize layout, you can customize text frame or connecting text frame usually. If you want to connect two text frames together you can use this method, that involves selecting two text frames. You could disconnect the previous, next or both page, or customize the text frame, like so, and so here's the actual text frame. Here is the flow tag that is used, and you can auto connect your frame by clicking set. Once you've selected and do that, it pretty much should control the flow. A couple of other things we want to work with, is the reference page. Let's go to view, and let's go to reference page, like so. Now what's nice about a reference page is you can make your own graphic here, and work with it on the fly. For example, if we wanted to actually make a little frame name, and this frame name could be called logo like so, and click set, just like that. And now you can actually make a oval, like so. And then we’ll make it green, and we'll make it a green fill as well. Then we’ll go ahead and click an exclamation point, and we're going to increase the size of that. Now here's your exclamation point and we can make it pretty big here. Place it over that green circle and we can set it for white, like so. Now we simply can select this frame here, and we can go to edit, copy. Then we can go to view and choose body page, like so, we can scroll down to the page that we would want. Paste that, and of course position that wherever you want. But again once you paste it, look what it says, “cannot move this type of anchored frame in this way” - “Use the special anchored frame command to change the frame's position”. So again, that would be going to special anchored frame, at the top of the column or outside column, and so on so forth. So, the reference page is wonderful for creating logos that you are going to reuse on and off. This way you will not have to disturb your regular documents, you can come here, build your graphics and then go ahead and go back to your body pages, and paste those boiler plate graphics that you've created. Or the graphics that you're going to be reusing over and over, and over again. So you can have a set of rules or graphics, or things that are going to be reused over and over. And again you can apply these boiler plate graphics to your master page. So, when you apply the master page, they will appear there. But again in order for you to edit those master page elements, you have to go back to the master page window. And that will allow me to actually edit the actual graphics that you see here. If it's a body page, I probably wouldn't be able to edit the position or the content for that matter. But being in the master page as we are, you are able to change everything that you need. the position or the content for that matter. But being in the master page as we are, you are able to change everything that you need.
