Languages and Structures / Working With a Structured Document

Subtitles of the Movie

Let's work with a structured document - you can see I am in structured view. In order to get to get to structured view you go to file, preferences, general. And you can pick and choose between structured Framemaker or Framemaker. I am already in structured view so I will hit cancel. For starters, in order to make a structured document, you have to deal with a EDD which is element document definition. Go to file new, choose document. Typically you are going to use a template, and it is located in your Framemaker 7.0 folder under templates, and then under structured. Choose the template that you want to use, and click new. Now you can see we have our document. I am going to display the structured view, and then I am going to choose display the element catalog. The element catalog is the catalog that is responsible for the elements in your structured view. I am going to click on heading and then choose insert, and then just insert element. And there you could see it makes a little bubble called body, and I could click next to that bubble and type what I want. And there you have it – you’ll see it in the normal view and in the structured view. I can change my element by selecting the element, and choosing the proper element to replace it with and hit change. This is how you can alter your elements - you can drag and drop the hierarchy of your structured elements by clicking and dragging below or above, and I can flip flop the content as I wish, and there you have it. ent as I wish, and there you have it.
