Subtitles of the Movie

Continuing from the previous movie my survey of some of the more useful behaviors that ship with Flash CS3 Professional, another very useful set of behaviors are those related to sound right here. Loading sounds, streaming sounds, playing and stopping sounds, I have another example set up here to demonstrate these behaviors. In this case I have an audio file that will play when the start button is clicked and then when the stop button is clicked it will stop all sounds, so let's go ahead and preview this. Test movie, the sound playing and when I click on the stop button notice that the animation keeps playing there but the music does in fact stop. There's another example of stopping that audio playback in this example I used a stop all sounds behavior, if I double click on that behavior there I get the dialog, notice that it just tells me this behavior stops all sounds currently playing. Let's go ahead and delete that one and add another one here. You can also stop a specific sound there, I would type in the linkage ID of the sound in the library, type a name for the sound instance to stop. Another behavior is to play a sound likewise you would type in the name of the sound instance to play and the last two are load sound from library and load a streaming MP3 file. Loading a sound from the library is similar to stopping a sound, just type in the linkage ID of the sound in the library to play and then type a name for the sound instance for later reference and also play the sound unloaded. And that'll conclude this section of the course on applying behaviors to add basic interactivity to your Flash projects. In this section you've learned how to use the behaviors panel to add behaviors, to symbol instances and key frames. You've learned all about the events that trigger these behavior actions and specifically about mouse events and these last two movies you've gotten a survey of some of the more useful behaviors that ship with Flash CS3 professional. Let me now move on to the next section of the course, a very important section on ActionScripting, I'll be covering just the basics of ActionScripting, including the difference between ActionScript 3.0 which is new to Flash CS3 Professional and ActionScript 2.0. I'll define the actions panel for you and give you some specific scripts for controlling the timeline as well as controlling movie clips and loading movies into levels.
