You'll learn about the Movie Clip Class and the very important Target Path Tool for targeting different Timelines in a project. After practicing the writing of Target Paths using the provided Work Files in the Work Files folder, you'll then be introduced to scripts for communicating with external elements including how to link to external web pages, how to open custom browser windows using JavaScript and ActionScript; how to set up the Flash Player's security; and how to load external Flash movies and images. Section concludes with a script for setting up a preloader animation that gives a user feedback on the progress of the loading of a large Flash page. You'll then learn how to manipulate graphics with ActionScript including how to rotate, resize, filter, mask and otherwise manipulate graphics using ActionScript. You'll learn how to write custom classes and custom methods and also how to customize the mouse pointer. The next section of the tutorial you'll learn about controlling audio with ActionScript. You'll learn how to load, play, pause and control sound volume. The next project you'll learn how to create and script a working jukebox with working volume slider and song buttons. You'll then learn some more ActionScript fundamentals including Variables, Constants, Conditionals, For and Wild Loops. You'll then learn scripts for controlling text, working with XML data and the tutorial will conclude with scripts that are commonly used to create Flash games, including methods and functions of the important Math Class.
