You'll find that you have the ability to burn your DVD in one of several fashions and this is especially true if you go to the Build Menu. Let me just go ahead and move this over a little bit. You have this Build Menu or Build Panel and you'll see that we have the DVD format and of course you can choose from DVD, Blu-ray or Flash but I want to talk about specifically is, let me go ahead and just expand this, is the output. When you output, you can output to a DVD disk, which is of course a main goal in Encore so that we can put this into a set top player and then watch it on TV and that kind of stuff. The good thing about this is that if you don't know what these do, you can look right here and it tells you. This will build a disk to play on television, DVD players, computer or game consoles. But if I click the little menu here, I have other options. I have a DVD Folder to choose from and this will simply put a folder on the hard drive with your content in it. A DVD image is pretty much like a disk image file and an image file is like a fake DVD. Instead of having a DVD in your hand, all the content of that DVD is then going to live on your computer instead and some people like to do that as a way to archive data and then probably put it on a DVD later on. You can also do with CD-ROMs; not through Encore but there are applications that allow you to make disk images, especially true of applications that you purchase. So let's say you bought a video game and instead of putting it into your drive over and over again, you simply create what's known as an image of it. So the computer will put this image on your hard drive. You then double click on the CD Image and then play your game from there. Once again, from purchased software. And the DVD Master, this is really important when you want to duplicate your masterpiece and you want to send it to a reproduction facility. And you can find plenty of them online now. Just go to Google and look for DVD facilities. I know that Lulu.com does it they offer the ability to create your DVD that people can order right from the Internet. I also use a company called Custom Flix and I believe they changed their name to something else and I can't quite remember what it is, but Custom Flix, once again, allows people to order your DVD without having you at home having 3,000 DVDs sitting behind you in your bedroom or your studio or your basement. It's on demand and this is really handy. So what does that mean? Alright, you build your DVD in Encore, you output to a DVD Master and you send this CD to the output facility. Now, often they'll take a DVD disk as well, so you have to call and find out what they want you to send them. But this is the options available to you so that you can output your DVD in a wide variety of formats so that you can then either watch it on a standard player, have an image of it or have something that's ready to go to tape or to DVD that is ready for replication on a wide scale or once again, set to one of those on-demand websites so people can order your DVD one at a time and have that company send it right to them, pretty much leaving you completely out of it and you just collect whatever percentage of the profits that you specify at that website. So definitely check out, once again, CustomFlix.com and Lulu.com to just get a feel for how to do that.
