Core Concepts of CSS / CSS Styles Panel – All Mode

Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie, I review the All View here in the CSS Styles Panel. In All Mode the CSS Styles Panel displays two panes, an All Rules Pane here in the top and a Properties Pane beneath. The All Rules Pane displays a list of rules to find in the current document as well as All Rules defined in Style Sheets that may be attached to the current document, which is the case here. I have a document back here which has this style sheet attached to it, this is an external style sheet called 3 Call_LeftNav.CSS. The Properties Pane down here let's you edit CSS Properties for any selected rule in the All Rules Pane. You can resize either pane by moving your cursor to the border between the two panes, clicking and dragging up or down. Notice that when I select a rule here in the All Rules Pane all the properties that are defined for that style appear here in the Properties Pane. For example the AHover has the color and text decoration styles applied. H2 has font family, font size and color. H5 is font family, font size and color as well. You can choose to Display the Properties down here in two views. Category View, will organize all of the Properties into categories such as Font, Background, Block, Border, Box, List Positioning. You can open up those categories and then notice for any of the established Properties you can modify those. For example I'm just going to click here next to Font Family and choose a different Font Family for my H5 Rule up here. The other view is List View; this shows an alphabetical list of all of my properties. Notice that the Applied Properties are up at the top in the blue, so you can more easily identify them. Now what makes this particularly useful, this CSS Styles in the All View here is that any changes that you make here in the Properties Pane will be applied immediately, letting you preview your work as you go along. Now there's another view here for the CSS Styles Panel and that's the Current View, so let me move onto the next movie and review the Current View of the CSS Styles Panel in more detail.
