Introduction to Dreamweaver CS3 / Course Introduction

Subtitles of the Movie

Hi and welcome to this comprehensive introduction to virtual training companies course on the world's leading HTML editor and website creation tool, Dreamweaver CS3. My name is James Gonzalez and I'll be your guide through this look at the CS3 version of Dreamweaver released by Adobe in the spring of 2007. Dreamweaver's flexible workspaces, clean HTML code and deep feature set has earned it, its reputation as a tool of choice for web designers and developers. Personally speaking, of all the various software tools that I use throughout my workweek, Dreamweaver is one of the few that I use on a daily basis and is the one that I'm in the most demand for to teach. It's just a great tool all the way around. I'm an experienced Dreamweaver instructor having taught every version of Dreamweaver starting from version one and including Macromedia Dreamweaver MX and MX04, Dreamweaver 8 and now Adobe Dreamweaver CS3. And I've taught the program to hundreds of students from all over the world. I'll use all of my Dreamweaver teaching experience in this tutorial to show you what to do but also to discuss what not to do and why. I'll share with you using simple explanations and example and demonstrations, how to avoid the common simple mistakes that I see my Dreamweaver students make on a daily basis. The aim of the series of movies which comprise this tutorial is to provide you with the concise but complete demonstrations of the Dreamweaver tools and techniques you'll need to know in order to immediately start creating your own web pages and websites. However this is not so much a course about all the various buttons in the Dreamweaver graphical user interface and what they do but a clear step by step series of demonstrations on how to use the application to efficiently create effective web pages and websites. If you learn better and faster by watching and listening to a sequenced set of movies showing you very carefully how to use this software application using plenty of relevant examples, then this is the learning resource for you. The course is divided up into sections in about five to ten closely related movies with each individual movie no longer than seven minutes and averaging about five minutes. Before we go much further I should orientate you on how these movies are being recorded. I'm currently using a screen capturing software to record my voice and computer screen as I run through each of my software demonstrations. This recording software will be recording my screen in real time as I perform them live on the computer. If you've never used Dreamweaver before, move onto the movie, What is Dreamweaver. If you have used another version of Dreamweaver before, you'll want to skip the next movie and do the following two movies covering what's new in Dreamweaver CS3 in order to catch up on the changes that Adobe has implemented in the latest CS3 version of the application.
