On the windows System, you'll need an Intel Pentium IV processor, 600 megahertz or higher, Microsoft windows XP Service Pack 2 or later. Also runs with Vista, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, 512 megabytes of RAM, 500 megs of available hard drive space. Additional free space is required during installation. You'll need a DVD-ROM drive if you want to use the DVD playback feature in Director. This is the ability to play back linked DVD content from a DVD drive. And you'll need a Microsoft speech application programming interface 4.0 or later, an Internet or phone connection required for product activation. For Director Player and Shockwave Player playback, you'll need an Intel Pentium IV, 600 megahertz or higher, windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Vista, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later or Firefox 2.0. For Director authoring on the Macintosh platform you'll need OS X 10.4, Safari, 512 megabytes of RAM and a DVD-ROM drive, as well as an Internet or a phone connection for product activation. For Director Player and Shockwave Player playback, you'll need Mac OS X 10.4 with Intel Processors or a PowerMac will also play back via the Director Player or Shockwave Player.
