In this movie, let's talk about Workspace Elements. This is one of the fundamental elements for Contribute in order to browse with Contribute or edit your sites and blogs you have to understand the basic layout of the workspace of the Contribute program. We need to understand the vocabulary of these workspace elements because those terms will reappear in forums, help areas etc. so if you want to ask a question you have to know the correct term so other people can help you find the solution. Now at the top here we have our Menu bar, typically you'll see that in pretty much any program, sometimes you'll see a Title bar even above that. That is one of your main areas, then you're going to have your Browsing area and Editing area right here in the middle. You're going to have a Sidebar over here at the left, and you'll always have Toolbars that will vary depending on what you're doing up here at the top. So basically you have your Menu bar, you have your Toolbars, you have your Browsing window or your Editing window and then over here your Sidebars, those are your main areas. Now over here at the left on your Menu bar is this little CT for Contribute, if you click it you can Restore, Minimize, Maximize, Close your window however you want to, so that option is there. That same option of course is over here on your right hand side, you have Minimize which that minimizes it down to my Taskbar, makes it a button so when I push it in makes it active, I've got my Restore button, if I click that it turns into Maximize to fill the screen, and then of course I have the Close button. Now you'll notice when we clicked on this CT this little Alt F4 notice those little keyboard shortcuts, then you don't have to stop with your mouse if you're typing something on your website or your blog, so those options will be there. We have other options as you can see right here, the items that are dark, those are usable I can do something, if they're grayed out I cannot use those right now, I can't save anything basically because I don't have anything open. So if the option is grayed out it's just not available you have missed a step and you need to do something else. Over here at the right you have a Search box, if you want to read something about Contribute maybe you want to learn some keyboard shortcuts, you can type that in, hit your Enter key, it'll bring up your Adobe Help area that we've looked at already and it will give you some additional information. Now the next thing we want to look at is these different menus, obviously your File menu has to deal with your files, publishing, sending, printing, drafts, it also has that work off-line option that we talked about before. Editing is all of your editing options, have your Copy, Paste you can Edit your connections, your Preferences. Notice it also has the Undo and Redo options, those are wonderful, remember where those are at. And Ctrl Z is the common shortcut for the Undo so if you make a mistake or everything disappears suddenly I always tell people to look for the Undo option. Next thing is the View menu, all of your viewing options, it's got a lot of the things that you can do on a typical browser too, you can stop, refresh, move back and forward but if you're not seeing something or you need to go to something specific you can go to the View menu. Bookmarks, those are shortcuts that we can add, we will add those here shortly in another movie and I'll show you how to work with those. We can Review History under our menu, we can Insert items into our blog or our website depending upon what we're in and what we can do obviously it will show you here. We can Insert Flash items; we can Insert Images, Enclosures, Characters, PayPal, all kinds of options that we will do throughout our movies. Formatting, here's a lot of formatting options, we can Change Styles, Underlining, we can even Format Images. Tables is another option we can Add Information, Add Cells, Delete Cells and of course we've already looked at our Help menu. The next option over is Adobe Bridge, if you use that with your Adobe products, here are some of our View options again and of course if we want to connect we could make a new site or a new blog and we can also look at my connections right here. Those are just some quick little shortcut buttons. Right here we have our Start page tab and then of course now down here we start getting into our Browser Editing Window and our Toolbars. In the next movie we'll take a look at that.
